Fire Chief Arborvitae (Thuja occidentalis 'Congabe' PP19009) from the Southern Living Plant Collection is a compact shrub-form evergreen that brings a pop of color each season. This dwarf arborvitae bush produces very attractive feathery foliage that is bright golden in Spring, followed by hues of orange in Summer that will deepen red in Fall. Fire Chief has a mounding growth habit that matures to 3-4 feet tall and wide, which is perfect for mass plantings, borders, foundations, and low-hedges in the landscape, and can be used in containers to make beautiful evergreen planters. This Arborvitae shrub will thrive in the landscape in Full Sun to Part Shade in USDA Zones 5-9 (In Zones 4 and below this bush should be planted in containers and moved indoors during the Winter).
